From Wanderers to Family: The Transformations Happening at La Vita Sukha
As nomads, seekers, and wanderers, we’re always moving, chasing the next adventure, the next connection, the next horizon. But beneath all that movement is something deeper: a longing for a place where we can pause, feel at home, and remember what it means to truly belong.
That longing is what inspired me to create La Vita Sukha, a coliving, coworking, and retreat space tucked away in Roseto Valfortore, a tiny mountain village in southern Italy.
“Sukha,” in Sanskrit, means lasting happiness. Over time, I’ve learned that true sukha doesn’t come from constant motion, but it comes from community, nature, and the simple, beautiful moments we share together.
🌿 A Place Where Time Slows Down
Roseto isn’t your typical nomad hotspot. At all. There are no high-rise coworking hubs or fast-paced cafés with digital screens everywhere. Instead, you’ll find cobbled streets, sweeping mountain views, and neighbours who still make olive oil from their own groves. The air carries the smell of woodsmoke in winter, wild herbs and flowers in summer.
For many guests, arriving here feels like stepping into another rhythm. One that is about remembering the joy of simplicity, forgetting about productivity hacks.
It’s the kind of place where you breathe deeper, look up at a sky full of stars, and finally feel your shoulders drop.
✨ What Happens When We Gather
When people come to La Vita Sukha, they often expect yoga classes, meditation, or a quiet space to work. And yes, those things happen. But something else always unfolds, something harder to describe.
It starts around the table. We cook together, often with ingredients from our garden or a local friend’s kitchen. Laughter spills out over homemade pasta and local wine. Stories are shared, sometimes in multiple languages, sometimes just with gestures and smiles.
From there, the magic multiplies:
☀️ Morning yoga as the sun rises over the valley
🍃 Coworking breaks spent picking figs from the tree
💬 Authentic relating games to go far beyond small talk
🌲 Silent forest walks where even restless minds find stillness
It’s not a program I run — it’s an alchemy we co-create.
Every group is different, but the thread is the same: People arrive as individuals, and leave as part of a community.
💫 The Transformations Guests Take Home
I’ll never forget when one guest said:
“I came here to rest, but I’m leaving with a whole new perspective on how I want to live my life.”
That’s what happens again and again. Guests don’t just leave with new memories, they leave with a sense of belonging.
They rediscover themselves. They remember that joy can live in a shared meal, a slow morning, or an honest conversation.
It’s the kind of transformation that lingers long after the suitcase is packed.
🌍 Why This Matters Now
Nomad life can be freeing — but also lonely. We’re hyperconnected online, yet starved for real connection offline.
Spaces like La Vita Sukha, and the many others emerging around the world, are answering that quiet ache.
They show that travel can regenerate, not just consume.
That community can be co-created, not just found.
That belonging isn’t a place, it’s a feeling we nurture together.
🕊️ An Invitation
If you’re a nomad, a seeker, or simply someone craving deeper connection, know this: there are places where you can land, exhale, and truly belong.
At La Vita Sukha, we’re holding space for exactly that; not as a transaction, but as a co-created journey of community, nature, and transformation.
So if your heart’s whispering that it’s time to pause, to root, to reconnect… Roseto is waiting for you too. 💛
